Finding Your Eye ~ Lesson 4 ~ Inspiration File Review

After reviewing the photos in my inspiration file, I had a difficult time narrowing down the elements my favorite photos have.  I noticed that some of them have more than one element. I am definitely drawn towards beautiful light, color and no color - and I noticed that many photos I am drawn to have people in them, doing just ordinary things.  I also love photos of places. I am drawn towards windows and reflections in them. Here are a few examples:

(1) Light,  Movement and Emotion - I just love this photo, this boy is about to do "flips" (somersaults) down Beale Street in Memphis, I love the light on him, the tip bucket, his concentration and grace, to me he looks like a ballet dancer.

Boys at the Shore
(2) Portrait and Color
El Hombre ~

(3) Imagining a Story to go along with the photo

Rainy Day Stroll to School

Elevator Man

(4) Colorless
Paris Morning

Window at Mont San Michel

(5) Reflections

Chocolate Shoppe

Lemons in the Window

You beautifully capture landscapes and people. It makes me want to see more, know more :) I am drawn to window fronts too - often so colorful. All of your images are lovely.

Your pictures do seem to tell a story. I really love the 'El Hombre' shot - the lovely strong colours and the man sitting relaxing - just wonderful.

Oh, lovely! You definitely have an eye for story, capturing moments of people in the midst of something that leads me to want to know more. Great job in pulling out the details of your eye. I so enjoyed seeing what you found!

I love the idea of creating an imaginary story with pictures. The Elevator Man photo really drew my eye with its contrast in colors, strong lines, and use of light to draw focus on the Elevator Man. Your intention was to create a story, and I immediately started imagining one. Nicely done!
